Of Bridal Fairs, A Glam Camp Plus A Movie! AND Finally, an Outfit Post.

Last Saturday, spent the day with my girlfriends, 2 of whom is getting married (KWEY and BIANCA --- click on their names for their engagement stories! So cute!), at the Weddings & Beyond Bridal Fair at NBC Tent.  There were so many people who attended so it was a squeeze-thru at the aisles but as I was the official partner of Bianca (her fiance, Yan Yan, is in Canada), I was picking up fliers she could sort through later!

While it was fun checking out the current wedding trends, I felt a little ostracized cause I had an ID screaming "Guest" on it which probably made some booths think, "Oh she's not a client so... next bride please!"  BUT while I might not be a bride now, I will be eventually so they might have missed out on plenty of potential clients aka "Guests" at the event! Right?  Well, just saying!

Right after, dropped by GLAM CAMP hosted by ETC, 2nd Avenue and Diva Universal.  The venue was really nice (first timer!) and got to do just a tad bit of shopping but no worries cause I went away with this really chic goodie bag which had all sorts of happy in them!  Thanks and congratulations you guys!

OH and capped off the day with a movie and finally saw "Ang Babae sa Septic Tank".  Haven't gotten around to wording my thoughts about it but for now, I'd give it a 2-thumbs up rating!  And kudos to my theater friends, Meann and Cheeno, who were part of the film.  Great, great job!  Now, I kinda miss theatre... *sniff*  Are there any auditions lurking around?

Hope your Saturday was as casual busy!

Cheers!

Travel Bug : I AM SO OUTDOORSY TOO! Ya know?

Got this post on draft! PFFT!  Quite late and apologies for that!

MEEE!!! REALLY!!!
ALL for ONE... in laughter and sheer terror! GAH!

Coming from the beach, I was ready to explore what I could in the city!  I'm a self-confessed city girl and I've always liked it that way.

While, we did hit the malls and checked out the restos, my friend SAM had a very unique request from the group and that was to check out some thrill-seekers activity at Sky Experience Adventure.  Now, the name in itself does not hide hints like heights and maybe some nerve wracking gravity activity and I was trying my best to prepare myself for just ONE thrill ride or whatever just so I don't come off as a drag!

Coming into the hotel, I still had no idea what to expect entirely until we got to check out the ticket booth.  Now, out of all us girls, there are ONLY 2, save for maybe 3, of us who really go out of our way to get "sporty" and that's ISA, SAM and i guess, FRANCES (while she's in Canada!) oh and i guess BIANCA who goes diving... so 4!  The rest of us opt for, well, cheering instead so going into extreme sports or activities really take a lot out of us... So while I was only ready for ONE thrill trip... I ended up with THREE!!!  Turns out, its a group thing! Who knew?!

From the 6 of us (except KWEY, who tried it before...), we had 2 couples and me and SAM.  In order of activity (and I guess, degree of difficulty...), we did the Edge Coaster first, then the Skywalk Extreme and lastly, the Sky Lift.  To be honest, I never thought I would pay to scare myself like that BUT I am proud of myself for going through with it!  Even if I wasn't the most composed human being that time, I didn't faint on the post, or worse... chicken out last minute!  I have to say though that I probably would not have done this if my friends weren't supporting me the whole time... literally!  Their words of encouragement were tons of help for me to just suck it up and do it!  And of course, the zipline instructor's magic words to make me do a spiderman or reverse position, "maganda yan sa picture!" (in English, "that would look pretty in photos") was a bonus too! HA!

Now, would I recommend this to a not-so adventurous friend?  HELL YEAH!

Bold of me to say this but, skydiving, anyone?

If you're ever in Cebu and you're into these kinda things... Just check out the Sky Experience Adventure site for more details --- http://www.skyexperienceadventure.com

Cheers!

P.S. From all the freaking out... no outfit post! HA!

Travel Bug: Take Me to CEBU!

Finally a beach trip Summer 2011
Setting up for a HEATED SANDBALL FIGHT! GAME ON!

This is LOVE!

Ever since young, its like I always get bitten by a travel bug.  Can't really stay in one place very long and even if it means just walking to the next block, I'm one to do it if it means just "getting someplace else".  If I probably had most of the money in the world (not all, cause that's just crazy, right?), I'd spend my time traveling and experiencing the world's cultures, helping out in communities, check out local cuisines and dabble in a little shopping (okay, maybe a lot of shopping! HA)

For this trip out, it was time to go local.  Apart from Bacolod, I can't really remember travelling South of the archipelago so heading over to Cebu was a definite first for me.  We were a party of 7 - 2 couples and 3 singlies (well, if you want to get technical - 1 is engaged, another is in a relationship and the other is single and ready to mingle - try to spot the who!)  We were set to spend 2 days at the beach over at Bantayan Island and the last day was a random stroll through Cebu City.

The plane trip to was about an hour and then to the port was another 2 hours.  From the port, we took a ferry to Bantayan Island which took us about another hour and all in all, travel time was an estimated 4 hours so not bad really.  What was a challenge though was baggage! (nothing new for me really since I could never learn to travel light!) BUT what was most interesting for this trip was having to travel with NO CHECK IN luggage! Crazy right? So I pretty much had to squeeze in all I could in 7kg of hand carry allowance and... SUCCESS!!!

Finally settling in at the CouCou Lodge was comfortable since the rooms were well kept and the bathroom was just as I would like it - well lit and squeaky clean!  Was roomies with KWEY and SAM (awful that FRAN missed out but work got in the way...) and after freshening up, headed out for a stroll by the shore and some good old quality hangout session.  After playing model with my favorite photography-lovin' couple, LJ and PAELO, took part in our first ever sandball fight (same concept as a snowball fight only with sand! A must try!!!) where BIANCA and YAN YAN joined in (well YanYan, was off swimming once the "fight" started).  As you could guess, that took a lot out of us and we ended up tired and slumped.  Had seafood for dinner, a few drinks and called it a night!

Carefree and relaxed... just what I needed!

Cheers to Day 1!
